Training The Trainer

Community Health Worker Instructors are individuals approved to provide instruction and training in one or more core competencies for Community Health Workers. The Umemba Health CHW Instructor Program places emphasis on virtual-Instructor Led Training (v-ILT) and the program is 100% virtual.

Learners will receive 160 hours of instruction with 20 hours in each of the following competency areas:

  • Communication Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Service Coordination Skills
  • Capacity-Building Skills
  • Advocacy Skills
  • Teaching Skills
  • Organizational Skills
  • Knowledge-based skills

  • How long is the certification program?

    The certification program is 15 weeks.

  • What language is the program offered in?

    Currently, the course is only offered in English.

  • How much does the program cost?

    The total cost of the program is $1200. There is a $50 application/admin fee that counts toward the total cost of the program. Payment installments are available for those needing financial assistance.

  • I don't reside in the State of Texas, can I still enroll in the certification program?

    Yes! Our program is virtual and can be taken from any U.S. state.
